Hard water is a persistent local condition across northwest Arizona. The high levels of dissolved calcium and magnesium aggressively shorten the lifespan of everything they touch. A yearly water heater flush, an anode check, and a softener service call cost only a fraction of what an emergency equipment replacement does.
What's included in an annual visit
Our comprehensive plumbing maintenance plan is designed to catch minor wear and tear before it escalates into a catastrophic failure. During our annual visit, a trained technician will perform the following critical services:
- Water Heater Flush: We fully drain your water heater tank and perform a pressurized flush to blast out heavy sediment buildup. This restores heating efficiency, stops the loud rumbling noises, and prevents premature steel tank failure caused by overheating.
- Anode Rod Inspection: We check the sacrificial anode rod inside the tank. If it's heavily depleted, we will let you know it is time for a replacement to actively stop rust from attacking the tank walls and causing a rupture.
- Water Softener Check: We test your home's water hardness level, inspect the resin bed, ensure the brine tank isn't bridging, and verify that the control head is cycling and drawing brine properly to keep your water soft.
- Fixture & Leak Check: We perform a thorough visual inspection of exposed plumbing, supply lines, washing machine hoses, and emergency shutoff valves. We look for the subtle signs of corrosion that indicate a future leak.
The true cost of waiting
Most homeowners only call a plumber when something actively breaks or starts leaking. By that time, the damage is already done. A water heater that bursts floods the garage, ruins drywall, and requires an immediate, expensive replacement. A heavily scaled pipe requires total replacement instead of a simple cleaning. Regular maintenance pays for itself by catching problems early and extending the lifespan of your expensive appliances.
Use our annual plumbing maintenance checklist to understand the routine checks that help prevent those failures.
