Tankless water heaters push water through very narrow, super-heated copper or stainless steel heat exchangers. In areas with hard water, these narrow passages quickly accumulate scale. If left untreated, the unit will restrict water flow, trigger error codes, and eventually suffer a catastrophic heat exchanger failure.
When this service makes sense
We isolate the unit using its service valves and connect a submersible pump and bucket system. We circulate a specialized, food-grade descaling solution through the heat exchanger for 45 to 60 minutes to dissolve the scale completely. Finally, we flush the system with fresh water and clean the inline inlet filter.
